Berlinale 2008: Prizes and Juries in the Generation section

A number of different prizes are awarded in the sections competition programmes Generation Kplus and Generation 14plus, both to short films as well as feature films. Three juries cast their votes.

2008 Generation Kplus Children's Jury

Winner: The Black Balloon / Elissa Down / Australia

CRYSTAL BEAR for the best short film

Winner: Café Com Leite / Daniel Ribeiro / Brazil

Special Mention: Take 3 / Roseanne Liang / New Zealand

Note:

The Generation Kplus International Jury of the Generation Kplus competition awards the Grand Prix of the Deutsche Kinderhilfswerk (German Child Support Organization) worth 7,500 euros, to the best feature film. The charity's special prize, which has a value of 2,500 euros, is awarded to the best short film.

The 2008 Generation Kplus International Jury:

German director and scriptwriter Anna Justice (Max Minsky Und Ich), Malaysian director, scriptwriter and producer Yasmin Ahmad (Mukhsin; Grand Prix of the Deutsches Kinderfhilfswerk, Berlinale 2007), South-African-based Finnish animation designer Antonia Ringbom, Israeli director and scriptwriter Omri Levy (Miss Entebbe; Honorable Mention Berlinale 2003).

THE DEUTSCHE KINDERHILFSWERK GRAND PRIX FOR THE BEST FEATURE FILM

Winner: Go West! A Lucky Luke Adventure / Olivier Jean-Marie.

Special Mention: Mutum / Sandra Kogut

THE DEUTSCHE KINDERHILFSWERK SPECIAL PRIZE

Winner: My Uncle Loved the Colour Yellow / Mats Olof Olsson

Special Mention: Post! / Christian Asmussen and Matthias Bruhn
