Yalta Film Studios is a full-service motion picture production company based in Crimea, Ukraine. The company is responsible for a few successful features. “Ligiea” (2009), starring Eric Roberts, Wes Bentley (“American Beauty”) and Michael Madsen (“Kill Bill”), is a horror tale of Edgar Allan Poe about writer and his enigmatic fiancee. “The Good Soldier Schweik” (2008) is a comedy based on the novel from Czech author Jaroslav Hašek about regular man involved in war. Written and directed by Robert Crombie, “Sappho” (2008) is a controversial love story about girls relationship. The movie has become a completely unexpected hit in Ukraine. Yalta Film facilities include a 820 ft (250 m) deep-water wharf and a 70,000 sq ft (6,500 sq m) special construction facility in Sevastopol harbor, Crimea. There's a Kodak-approved laboratory as well. The company has a collection of around 80,000 costumes of various historic periods.
